Not by any means.
Cyberjournalist.net has created such a code, and it's excellent. Patterned after the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics, the bloggers code sets down guidelines for best practice and for good reason. As cyberjournalist.net explains:
"Integrity is the cornerstone of credibility. Bloggers who adopt this code of principles and these standards of practice not only practice ethical publishing, but convey to their readers that they can be trusted." The bloggers code focuses on three chief categories of practice:
1. Be Honest and Fair.
2. Minimize Harm.
3. Be Accountable.
Take a look at the code. And join me in a standing ovation for cyberjournalist.net.
